About our ORGANIZATION
Since the formation of the Metropolitan Police Self-Defense Institute in 1981, our mission has been to train law enforcement and civilians in techniques of survival in critical situations. In 1986, We included a firearm curriculum to offer more options in self-defense and survival.
Our staff are trained and certified in defensive tactics, martial arts, and firearms. They are certified firearms instructors by the National Rifle Association(both civilian and law enforcement certification), United States Concealed Carry Association, Illinois Department of Financial & Professional Regulations, Illinois Law Enforcement Standards Training Board. We offer additional courses in O.C. Pepper spray, Stop the Bleed, and CPR.
Our public service program for training women, seniors, and children has granted us national recognition. M.P.S.D.I. has received several awards from prestigious organizations such as the National Rifle Association, United States Law Enforcement Foundation, and National Association of Chiefs of Police.
